Popular Thai restaurant shuts from virus

It comes as Newtown’s Time for Thai restaurant, which has no links or connections to Thai Rock, announced it would be closed “until further notice” due to a COVID-positive diner.

“Public Health NSW has notified us of a positive COVID-19 case attending the premises on Friday, 28th August 2020 between 6:00pm – 7:30pm,” a post on the restaurant’s Facebook page read.

“(It’s) mainly to give our customers and the local community that confidence to know that they can trust us … that there’s multiple layers of protection,” Mrs Boyd said.

Thai Rock has posted extensively about its new health strategies on social media and has offered to provide “walk throughs” of the technology to any customer looking for more reassurance.

Regular diners have rallied behind Mr and Mrs Boyd with many wishing them luck on their first day of trading and vowing to show up in support.

“Steph and David, don’t you worry we’ll be there to support you and your family,” one wrote.

Another added: “Oh thank God, I need Pad Thai and curry puffs.”
